January Model of the month- Chelsea B!

Meet the wonderful Chelsea B, an experienced fit model, talented dancer, and awesome human!

1. Where are you from?

Rochester, New York. And have lived in New York City for 21 years.

2. What are you into… studies, hobbies, special skills, etc.?

I have a 20+ career as a professional dancer- spending almost 14 years with the Immersive off-Broadway show, Sleep No More, and working/creating/and performing nationally and internationally with Adam Barruch Dance as well as other international artists and Broadway legends. I am also a visual artist, with exhibitions in galleries in the Lower East Side, highlights in art magazines, and my first solo exhibition, curated this February by the Lagstein Gallery in Nyack, NY. Additionally, I am a psychotherapist with a specialty in women’s health/sexual and reproductive trauma, and have worked in direct client practice, state government, and on global women’s health platforms with the United Nations Foundation agencies.

3. Favorite clients from the biz?

I have adored working for many years with the incredible teams at Foray Golf, MM LaFleur, and KITH-all are favorites.

4. Dreams/goals, anything else of interest (any fit dream clients)?

Given that most of my career has been in a physically demanding field, I dream of working as a fit model for activewear brands like Adidas, Lululemon, and Athleta.

Outside of fashion, I have dreams of working in the maternal health psychotherapeutic space and continuing to make art and movement- all while traveling the world, opening a coffee shop in Maine, and owning a Volkswagen van 😉

5. Fit/modeling career highlights?

Working with Foray Golf since 2016, I’ve witnessed and felt the power of a female-run company grow and expand into what it is today. It has been an incredible highlight of mine to be part of their journey.

I also had the privilege of fitting with KITH as they launched a new activewear line and had the opportunity to introduce the items to the dance community.

6. How did you get into fit modeling?

I remember meeting Malissa (Founder) when I was in my undergraduate studies at NYU and sharing my goals of entering this field, but remaining true to my body, its power, and its shape, and she was supportive and championed my every move. She recommended I look into the Fit Department and helped me cultivate clients who also appreciated that goal and held that perspective. Because of this, I have had an incredible experience in the field for many years, with clients who are truly magical.
