May Model of the Month – Gillian T
Meet Gillian a member of the BICOASTAL family for almost 15 years now – almost as long as the company’s been up and running! An experienced and seasoned fit model, she brings professionalism and expertise to any job or casting that comes her way
1. Where are you from?
I hail from Missoula, MT.
2. What you are into… studies, hobbies, special skills etc..?
In addition to being a fit model, I am a professional actor and have an event coordination business. When I’m not working, I look forward to working out, culinary adventures (cooking and eating), traveling, the outdoors and hip-hop dance. I also enjoy volunteering and participating in various forms of social activism.
3. Favorite clients from the biz?
I am extremely lucky to have LL Bean and Victoria’s Secret as long-time regular clients and love the diversity of garments I get to fit- from everyday apparel to active wear, to fishing waders, swim, shapewear and everything in between!
4.Dreams/goals, anything else of interest (any fit dream clients?)
As a fit model, I’m grateful to be fitting for two divisions at Victoria’s Secret, but would love to expand into others. Every once in a while I get to fit glamour styles and would be thrilled if they decide to fit my size more often! An acting goal for this year would be to book an episode of Law and Order. I’ve had so many great auditions for that show and it feels like NY actor right-of-passage! Longer term, I hope I get to work with Greta Gerwig someday – she’s been a huge inspiration, especially as I also work to expand into directing.
5. Fit/modeling career highlights?
I had a stint doing bridal for Jenny Yoo and would really love the opportunity to do it again. Who doesn’t love trying on gorgeous gowns?! At the time, I was often fitting military/tactical wear for Crye Precision on the same day, which was an interesting contrast! I’ve also had fun doing maternity for Motherhood and Hatch, as well as Victoria’s Secret. Overall, I feel really lucky to have had such a diverse portfolio. It has kept fit modeling really interesting over the years and also expanded my knowledge base.
6. How did you get into fit modeling?
Early on in my time in New York, a more seasoned actor/model friend recommended it and introduced me to Malissa. I’ve been fitting with Bicoastal ever since – almost 15 years!
