Kuir was born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. As a South Sudanese refugee, Kuir lived between the refugee camps in Northern Kenya and later on, in the city of Nairobi. She is a daughter of former Deputy Minister of Defence in South Sudan, who helped the country gain independence. Kuir moved to America at the age of 14, and is now a mother of one. She is a beauty consultant and LPN, who enjoys working with the elderly.
